"WHEN I ARRIVED TO THE HOTEL, PAUL, THE ATTENDANT WAS VERY PLEASANT AND HELPFUL. I WAS UPSET THAT THEY OVERBOOKED THE HOTEL AND MY HUSBAND AND I HAD TO SLEEP IN SEPERATE BEDS. THIS WAS OUR FIRST WEEKEND GET AWAY IN 2 1/2 YEARS. TO BE UNHONEST, WE WOULD HAVE EMJOYED IT MORE JUST TO BE ABLE TO CUDDLE WITH ONE ANOTHER. THE SECOND DOWN FALL: I WAS OVER CHARGED ON MY CREDIT CARD, I COULD NOT GET A REASONABLE EXPLANATION AS TO WHY AND WHEN IT WOULD BE FIXED. OVER ALL THE HOTEL WAS OKAY, AND THE LOCATION WAS EXCELLENT. I WILL RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO FRIENDS IN THE FUTURE. THANK YOU!!!"

Judging from the exterior of this renovated historical building, one would hardly expect to find such warmth, elegance and charm. The lobby basement once a speakeasy during prohibition days was known to have housed such talents as Louise Armstrong. In fact, one of the original murals of that day has been preserved and is open for public viewing upon request. The stained glass lobby doors open to display an expanse of rich solid oak mission-style furniture, reflecting the day of the original construction in 1896.
